Gerd Nierlich, Chairman and founder

Gerd Nierlich, Stonewater's founder, has 20 years of management consulting and software solution design and leadership experience. He guides new application development, system enhancements and commercial negotiations with strategic partners. In addition to his technological acumen, he has extensive experience in strategic planning, P&L management, risk management and business development with a number of Fortune 500 and international companies. He obtained his masters degree in Energy Technology from the Technical University in Aachen, Germany, one of the most highly regarded technical schools in Europe.

Randolph J. Nogel, President and CEO

Randolph Nogel brings to Stonewater nearly 25 years of experience in business planning and project development as an attorney and project manager specializing in strategic alliances and international business development. Prior to joining Stonewater, Mr. Nogel was Managing Director of SC&M, an investment banking firm and Of Counsel to Hutchins and Stiff, LLC.

Mr. Nogel received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and a law degree from the University of Denver College of Law. He has served on numerous corporate and civic boards.

Donald N. Frey

Donald Frey has had a distinguished career in the worlds of industry and international business. After receiving his Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1949, Mr. Frey's career began at the Ford Motor Company in 1950. He became a vice president and chief engineer in 1964 and in 1965 was project manager for the original Ford Mustang. In 1968 he became President of the General Cable Company and in 1971 was appointed president and CEO of Bell and Howell. For the past 15 years Mr. Frey has been a professor at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering in Evanston.

Mr. Frey was awarded the National Medal of Technology in 1990 at the White House by President George H.W. Bush for his lifetime of industrial innovation.

Phillip C. Goldstick

Phillip Goldstick is President and Chairman of G. Equity Investment Group Ltd. in Chicago. He is an experienced attorney who has served in numerous governmental and civic capacities including Illinois state representative to the 74th Illinois General Assembly.

Mr. Goldstick graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana in 1953 with a B.S. degree in Commerce and Law. While attending the university he was a member of the 1952 Rose Bowl Championship football team and the wrestling team. He graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 1956 with a degree of Juris Doctor. Mr. Goldstick serves on numerous civic boards including the University of Illinois Foundation Board of Directors where he serves on the Investment and Budget Committees.

Donald A. Petkus

Don Pekus is former Stonewater CEO and past President and Chief Executive Officer of UT Holdings Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chicago-based Unicom Corporation (Unicom) and a sister company to Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd), one of the nation's largest electric utilities. Mr. Petkus was previously Senior Vice President at both Unicom and ComEd and has more than 36 years' experience in the energy industry.

Adlai E. Stevenson III

Adlai E. Stevenson, a former U.S. Senator, is Chairman of SC&M Investment Management Corporation, an international investment banking firm. Stevenson is a graduate of Harvard College and Law School, a veteran of Korea and a Marine Corps Captain, former Illinois Supreme Court law clerk, Illinois State legislator and State Treasurer, and partner in the law firm of Mayer, Brown and Platt. He is widely traveled, an authority on East Asia and the recipient of numerous honors, including the Order of the Sacred Treasure with Gold and Silver Star from the Emperor of Japan.

Michael T. Tokarz

Mike Tokarz is Chairman of The Tokarz Group, a leveraged buy-out and investment banking firm. He is a former General Partner at Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Co., and has participated in diverse leveraged buyouts, financings, restructuring and dispositions. He serves on numerous corporate boards including Walter Industries, Inc.; IDEX Corporation; Evenflo Company, Inc.; Spalding Holdings Corporation; Kamaz; and Lomonosov. He is also active on the endowment committee and Board of Directors of the Rye YMCA. He received his undergraduate degree and MBA in finance from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.
